Since the release of Microsoft Windows 10, there have been changes from Microsoft in how we get our OEM copy of Windows. Microsoft has done away with OEM media and it’s only available through download for Dell systems. This is a simple step by step tutorial in how you can reach our support site and download your copy of Windows that shipped with the original system.

OEM Customers:  If you are building an image from a system you received that has the operating system installed from the Dell factory, you must format your hard drive and re-install using the OEM restore media provided by Dell. If you require a copy of the Windows OEM installation media, please call Dell technical support at 1.800.BUY.DELL and request Dell OEM Windows OS re-installation media.  Please note, if using Dell OEM Windows Media for your factory image, the sales order must match exactly the OS version of the image submitted.  If the two don’t match, the OS will not activate.

1.   Go to WWW.SUPPORT.DELL.COM and enter your service tag number like shown below:

2. Next you will get a page like you see below, simply click on the link Drivers & Downloads.

3. In this page, you will see the link to the ISO file, click it to access and download.

4. Click on the link you see below to access and begin the download of the ISO.

5. The next page will verify that you are a human. Simply type the verification code and select submit.

6. In this step, simply click the link of the OS description to begin the download of the Windows ISO file.

7. Select the first option if you see a selection to only get the OS ISO.

8. On this final step, the ISO download begins and you are done.
